one thing though. $800 is about £540. However when i put those parts together from uk sites, it comes to about £650. Granted i havent really shopped around, but thats quite a big increase. well within budget atm though.

The monitor isn't really a big deal. I would personally just get something on the cheaper side but make sure it is atleast a 19" screen.

Ok, so I said I wanted a Q6600, but this can't be a bad system right?

- Intel Core i7 920 2.66Ghz Overclocked to 3.40GHz
- Gigabyte EX58-UD3R Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard
- OCZ 6GB DDR3 PC3-10666C9 Gold Low-Voltage Triple Channel Kit
- Akasa AK-967 Nero Direct Contact Heatpipe CPU Cooler
- Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4870 1024MB
- Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA-II 32MB Cache
- Samsung SH-S223F/BEBE 22x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter (Black)
- Corsair TX 650W ATX2.2 SLI Compliant PSU
- Antec 300 Three Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case

Still no screen I know, but its a shiny new i7 system for under a grand. £960.50 to be exact, including delivery and VAT.

I want it

ok, so that one was on special offer, but now its not. So thats out of the question. Howver, it has made me look a little closer at an i7.

- Intel Core i7 920 2.66Ghz overclocked @3.33Ghz (Nehalem) (Socket LGA1366) - OEM
- Gigabyte EX58-UD3R Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard
- OCZ 6GB DDR3 PC3-10666C9 Gold Low-Voltage Triple Channel Kit (3 X 2GB)
- Akasa AK-967 Nero Direct Contact Heatpipe CPU Cooler
- Corsair TX 650W ATX SLi PSU
- Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4870 1024MB
- Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB
- Samsung SH-S223F/BEBE 22x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter
- Antec 300 Three Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case

This is one i've put together myself. Same sort of spec as the last. It's overclocked slightly lower than the last, but that can be changed if neccesary (I doubt it will). Also I put in a TB instead of 500GB HD.

Totals at £933.24 and i know, still no screen.

Yes, I do. I think its far too expensive. I got a 22" LG on eBuyer for £115 and that was 6 months ago. I think you can get a good 22" for much less than £160.

Yeh as long as you have the correct outputs/inputs. Most graphics cards these days output entirely in DVI so you need either a DVI to VGA converter or your old screen needs to have a DVI input.

My HD4850 came with a DVI to VGA converter so I am guessing yours will too.

I've got the black version of this : http://www.ebuyer.com/product/143051

The exclusively black one is http://www.ebuyer.com/product/149336

I think I got a black version at the price of the first one. Must have been a deal.

I think its a great screen, very sharp, great contrast ratio which I turn up and down using its presets depending on what I am doing.

I'd recommend it tbh. Way cheaper too (if you get the silver one... they may still send you a black one like with me)

Btw its VGA input but still looks great. Don't let that put you off. Doesn't both me tbh.

Nice to know you recomend that one. I won't worry about a screen for now I don't think. I'll probably be looking again soon.

Very tempted in buying that pc though, maybee next week when i get paid :D
