Making ladders is very simple BUT, you must know how to texture before taking this tutorial.

In UnrealEd, build yourself a nice little room and decorate it if you want.
Here is my very boring example....

The rooms dimensions are 1024*256*512 You will notice i have also created a red brush with the dimensions 1024*64*1 this is the ladder to be. Also you should not place your ladder touching the wall, as the Unreal engine will not be able to render what is behind the ladder, leaving you with unsightly black holes. We don't want that do we?

Go to the texture browser and open up CoreTexMetals and scroll down until you reach ladder_a. This and ladrBrwnMetal are the only two textures that can be used to make ladders, unless you import youre own.

Now youve selected the ladder_a texture click the add button. Et voila, there is youre ladder. You may have to edit the scale, but youre ladder is finished.
Easy as that.
